Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Holds relevant Wisconsin Teaching Certification or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Classroom literacy or intervention experience
  • Holds relevant Wisconsin Teaching Certification: reading teacher license (1316) and/or reading specialist license (5017)
  • Master of Arts or Masters of Science in Reading/Literacy, Special Education, or Speech and Language

Responsibilities

  • Direct student assessment and instruction, progress documentation, academic progress, family communication, and attendance and participation at all professional development and presession planning seminars.
  • Deliver instruction under the direction of the Director over the course of the semester adjusting instruction based on ongoing monitoring of student progress.
  • Communicate with families about scheduling, student reports, and weekly home extensions.
  • Actively participate in initial and ongoing professional development.
  • Provides classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction including grading
  • Supervises the day to day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed
  • Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy
  • Assists in developing techniques and/or model programs for carrying out instructional goals in disciplinary area and may help identify ways in which new techniques could be of assistance
  • Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
  • Assists in defining the objectives of the program and play a major role in carrying out program duties
