About The Position

The Master Teacher works with the Teacher Assistant and Teacher Aide to provide a healthy, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for up to (18) - 3-year-old preschool children– 5 days per week. Compliance with full-day Pre-K regulations is required for the daily 5-hour session. The Master Teacher is also responsible for supervising the Teacher Assistant and Teacher Aide, along with maintaining compliance with required training, documentation, and accurate recordkeeping.

Requirements

• NYS Certification in Birth-2 or Special Education; or a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a 5 year plan to obtain certification.
• NYS Early Childhood Education or Special Education certification in B-2 or N-6 is required, or a 5-year plan to obtain certification.
• Previous experience working with preschool children in an early childhood education setting required.
• Knowledge of child development and the ability to work with young children.
• Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of program and agency related information.
• Keep accurate detailed records.
• Conditional employment pending satisfactory medical exam and TB test.
• Receipt of fingerprint clearance at the time of hire.
• Employee will be required to sign an affidavit annually which states that he/she has not been indicated in a child abuse or neglect case within the past year.
• Must be able to provide independent transportation to perform job responsibilities.
• Subject to random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug testing.
