About The Position

The Master Teacher for Career and Technical Education (CTE) is a key instructional leader on campus responsible for improving teacher effectiveness, supporting student achievement in career pathways, and driving continuous program improvement through data-driven decision making, instructional coaching, and targeted professional development. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, industry-aligned instruction that prepares students for college, careers, and certifications. As a member of the Executive Cabinet and campus/district academic leadership teams, the CTE Master Teacher leads initiatives that strengthen CTE programs, promote real-world learning experiences, and foster partnerships with industry and postsecondary institutions. The Master Teacher also supports the development of a collaborative professional culture focused on innovation, rigor, and student readiness for the workforce.

Requirements

  • Valid Texas teaching certificate in CTE or a related field
  • Non-refundable finger printing fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee
  • Minimum 3–5 years of successful classroom experience in CTE or secondary education.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in coaching, curriculum, or program coordination.
  • Knowledge of TEKS and industry-based certifications.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with administrators, teachers, business partners, and community stakeholders to develop and strengthen CTE programs aligned with state standards and certification requirements
  • Strong instructional coaching and mentoring skills, including observation and delivery of actionable, high-quality feedback
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to evaluate instructional effectiveness and drive targeted improvements
  • Expertise in standards-based instruction, curriculum design, implementation, and assessment
  • Knowledge of career pathways, industry-based certifications, and workforce readiness programs
  • Skilled in developing and delivering professional learning for adult learners
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated leadership in supporting instructional improvement and program effectiveness
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, reflective practice, and high expectations for student and staff performance

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to CTE teachers to improve instructional practices and student outcomes
  • Model effective teaching strategies, including technology integration, project-based learning, and industry-relevant skills
  • Analyze student achievement data to guide instructional decisions and program improvement
  • Lead and facilitate lesson planning and internalization processes; provide timely, actionable feedback to ensure rigor and alignment to standards
  • Collaborate with campus leadership to maximize instructional time, resources, and student impact
  • Serve as an active member of Executive Cabinet, SALT, and DALT
  • Model and promote the district’s “One Team, One Voice” vision
  • Support campus and district initiatives and events
  • Ensure teachers develop and monitor Individual Goal Plans (IGPs), reviewing progress at least three times annually
  • Conduct regular classroom walkthroughs and formal observations as needed
  • Provide specific, actionable feedback aligned to instructional goals during post-conferences
  • Support Tier 2 and Tier 3 teachers through targeted coaching and intervention strategies
  • Facilitate coaching cycles, including modeling, co-teaching, and real-time feedback
  • Plan and deliver ongoing professional development aligned to instructional best practices, curriculum, and industry trends
  • Facilitate PLCs/Cluster Meetings to support collaboration among CTE staff
  • Develop and maintain Cluster Long-Range Plans (LRPs) and Cluster Meeting Records (CMRs)
  • Monitor effectiveness of professional learning and adjust based on data and feedback
  • Maintain accurate documentation of meetings, attendance, and follow-up support
  • Model effective instructional practices in a master classroom
  • Maintain accurate records of all cluster documents, sign-ins, attendance logs, and make-up session participation.
  • Actively participates in coaching sessions with district leadership.
  • Model effective instructional practices in a master classroom that support student growth.
  • Models best practices in teaching and learning for other educators to emulate.
  • Monitor and report CTE data, including student performance, certification attainment, and enrollment trends
  • Collaborate with campus and district leadership to implement and refine accountability systems
  • Develop and maintain progress monitoring tools aligned to district expectations
  • Support development of assessment calendars and standards-aligned assessments
  • Lead data analysis conversations to identify strengths and growth areas
  • Present data and progress updates to leadership teams
  • Ensure instructional plans align with district protocols and are accessible in shared platforms
  • Participate in team planning and provide feedback aligned to TEKS and instructional expectations
  • Use formative and summative data to inform planning and decision-making
  • Provide research-based strategies, tools, and instructional resources to teachers
  • Lead curriculum planning aligned to district resources and expectations
  • Develop and monitor a personal Individual Goal Plan aligned to campus and district goals
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning focused on coaching and adult learning
  • Reflect on effectiveness and impact on teacher and student outcomes
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven and solution-focused conversations
  • Build strong relationships with students, staff, families, and stakeholders
  • Advocate for student-centered decision-making and high expectations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Compile, maintain, and file required reports and documentation
  • Comply with federal, state, and local policies and regulations
