Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere. Position: Full-Time Special Education Teacher for our summer school Dates of Summer School: 07/08/2026-08/21/2026 (Orientation 07/08/26-07/09/26) Goals That Matter: Our ultimate aim is to help students achieve independence, community inclusion, and self-determination. As a key member of our team, you’ll play a crucial role in helping students reach these important milestones. This is your chance to be part of a dynamic team that’s shaping the future for children with unique needs and helping them achieve greatnes Position Overview: As a Special Education Teacher for our Summer School Programs, you’ll lead and guide a classroom of eager students, working alongside a dedicated team of professionals. You’ll collaborate with parents, school districts, and other agencies to ensure students receive the highest level of support to meet their unique needs.
Requirements
- NYS Certification in Special Education (Initial Certification required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and currently pursuing a Master’s in Special Education
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to lift 50 pounds independently
Nice To Haves
- New York State Permanent Certification in Special Education
- Master’s Degree in Special Education
- 2+ years of experience with students with multiple disabilities
- Creative, energetic, and passionate about making a difference
Responsibilities
- Lead the Classroom: Take charge of your classroom and provide direction to a team of professionals and paraprofessionals.
- Supervise & Support: Oversee the work of classroom education staff, ensuring students receive the best possible support.
- Collaboration is Key: Work closely with parents, school districts, and other agencies to ensure student needs are met with care and excellence.
- Inspire and Motivate: Foster an environment of creativity, energy, and growth for both students and staff.
