About The Position

This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing production and inventory schedules to support operational requirements at the Arcadia & Hayward, CA facilities. The Master Scheduler will handle order entry, inventory reports, production scheduling communication, exception processing, and inventory adjustments. This position also involves analyzing reports to maintain proper inventory levels and communicating with Purchasing regarding inventory movements. The role requires maintaining high quality and accuracy in all tasks and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred and or at least 2 years of related purchasing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write reports, effectively filter and use pertinent data, and execute based on vetted and best knowledge information.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, internal and external customers, and suppliers.
  • Advanced/Expert Excel skills (mathematical-related tasks).
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with constantly changing situations where limited standard pathways exist.
  • Ability to execute on instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.

Nice To Haves

  • Metals experience or purchasing of commodities preferred.
  • APICS/SIX SIGMA/LEAN concepts or training a plus.
  • AS400 Experience and Microsoft D365 use is a plus.
  • Use of MRP systems or concepts

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage production and inventory schedules to support operational requirements at the Arcadia & Hayward, CA facilities.
  • Maintain records and files.
  • Handle OFP order entry and all receiving mill and OFP.
  • Handle inventory reports and balancing.
  • Build and communicate production schedule, provide updates on lead ties, and product sequencing parameters.
  • Coordinate schedule break-ins “exception processing” to ensure customer service levels are met.
  • Schedule work for all processing equipment, including external (XPO) and internal (IPO) processing orders.
  • Inventory adjustments (resolve inventory issues, correct processing errors, aged inventory management).
  • Review aged inventory and inventory for replenishment.
  • Provide OFP support.
  • Generate reports on aged inventory and notifies sales of problem items.
  • Internal processing requests from Sales to produce sheet inventory.
  • Analyze reports to determine and maintain proper inventory levels for sheet stock.
  • Communicate with Purchasing to notify about any unusual inventory movements.
  • Maintain consistent high quality and accuracy of work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
