About The Position

The Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency for the District of Columbia (CSOSA) is seeking a Master's Level Clinician to join their team. CSOSA's mission is to increase public safety, prevent crime, reduce recidivism, and support the fair administration of justice in collaboration with the community. The agency is responsible for the supervision of probationers, those on Supervised Release, and parolees. The Master's Level Clinician will provide essential clinical services to justice-involved individuals, contributing to their rehabilitation and the overall safety of the community.

Requirements

Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field from an accredited college or university (e.g., Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs; Master's in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council; Council on Social Work Education; or APA-CoA).
A full, current, and unrestricted license to practice within the fields of counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field in the District of Columbia or a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States.
Training and required supervision to use the group curricula, instruments, and tools used in the Contractor's program.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must pass a National Background Check with Inquiries, Fingerprints, and Drug Screen.

Responsibilities

Conducting case file reviews, case file audits, crisis intervention consultations, reviewing, and approving written clinical documents.
Provided clinical staff oversight and continuous quality improvement, monitored activities, and participated in the interdisciplinary team meetings.
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for justice-involved individuals with a wide range of mental health conditions.
Provide individual and group psychotherapy, counseling, crisis intervention, and evidence-based behavioral health services to support patient rehabilitation and well-being.
Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans, documenting clinical findings, progress notes, and recommendations in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare, correctional, and case management teams to coordinate care, manage risk, and support continuity of treatment.
Apply specialized expertise in counseling and clinical psychology to address the unique behavioral health needs of justice-involved populations while maintaining compliance with ethical, legal, and institutional requirements.
Conduct evidence-based individual psychotherapy sessions (50 minutes in length) to address criminogenic risks and needs symptoms.
Conduct grief & loss counseling (50 minutes in length) to help Supervisees develop personalized coping strategies, process layered and sometimes conflicting emotions and gradually restore a sense of emotional balance.
Facilitate a group with the objective of teaching Supervisees with significant mental health or medical health challenges to understand and follow treatment regimens and to advocate for themselves with providers.
Facilitate a structured, evidence-based intervention consisting of 12 weekly sessions, each lasting 90 minutes, designed to help Supervisees with behavioral health challenges explore the underlying causes of anger and adopt more constructive ways to manage and express it.
Facilitate an evidence-based impulse control curriculum to assist Supervisees in developing impulse control techniques utilizing evidence-based cognitive interventions.
