Justice Resource Institute (JRI) supports the Department of Youth Services (DYS) by placing qualified Clinical Directors and Clinicians in their Northeast, Central, and Southeast programs. This position is based on the DYS Southeast Campus in Taunton, MA. The Clinician’s primary role is to write and produce a comprehensive assessment document on a newly committed youth. A clinical assessment includes utilization of various screening tools to measure risk, needs, trauma, substance use, and family circumstances. This document provides the DYS Management Team, youth and parent/guardian information for determining service needs, and the most appropriate level of care for the youth’s initial residential or community placement. This position will maintain a caseload of newly committed youth within the assigned Region. The Clinician will coordinate with health, educational, clinical, caseworkers, parents/guardians, etc. as part of this DYS assessment process. When appropriate, this role will consult and participate in treatment or review meetings. Additionally, this role will provide clinical support to the DYS programs, when needed, throughout the Southeast Region. The Clinician will work with program management teams to provide stable and supportive environments for youth. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating groups (such as DBT and substance use) and assisting with clinical case management including assistance with intakes of new residents. Clinical supervision is provided and licensure supported.
