About The Position

The Master Plumber is responsible for planning, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting plumbing, steam, medical support piping, water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, and related mechanical systems throughout the hospital campus. This position ensures all plumbing systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable federal, state, local, healthcare, and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical Diploma: Plumbing required.
  • Current Master Plumbing License required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ of experience in plumbing maintenance
  • Experience reading construction documents and coordinating projects
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex plumbing and mechanical issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive knowledge of commercial plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of steam, condensate, domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, and pumping systems.
  • Knowledge of healthcare construction requirements and infection prevention practices.
  • Proficient with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to supervise projects and coordinate contractors
  • Minimum five years of experience as a licensed Master Plumber in commercial, industrial, or healthcare facilities preferred.
  • Experience with hospital plumbing systems, steam systems, medical facilities, and large commercial mechanical systems strongly preferred.

  • Daily interactions with a diverse clientele, including hospital staff, physicians, and visitors, are expected.
