About The Position

The Master Plumber is a highly skilled professional responsible for overseeing plumbing systems installation, maintenance, and repair in residential, commercial, and/or industrial settings. This role requires advanced technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and compliance with all local, state, and national plumbing codes. The Master Plumber may supervise apprentice and journeyman plumbers while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Requirements

  • Valid Master Plumber License (state-specific)
  • High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
  • 5–10+ years of plumbing experience, including supervisory roles
  • Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and materials
  • Strong understanding of local and national plumbing codes

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues using advanced tools and techniques
  • Design and plan plumbing systems for new construction and renovation projects
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Ensure systems comply with all applicable building codes and safety regulations
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate plumbing jobs from start to completion
  • Estimate labor, materials, and time required for projects
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance
  • Maintain accurate job records, reports, and documentation
  • Supervise, train, and mentor apprentices and journeyman plumbers
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to best practices
  • Delegate tasks effectively across team members
  • Promote a culture of safety and professionalism
  • Communicate with customers to explain issues, solutions, and project timelines
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and recommendations
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality workmanship and professionalism
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
  • Maintain proper licensing and certifications
  • Stay updated on plumbing codes, regulations, and industry advancements
