About The Position

Base is America’s next-generation power company, focused on deploying a vast network of distributed batteries to transform the electricity grid. The Master Planner, Operations role is crucial for aligning various operational functions, including marketing, sales, deployments, manufacturing, and supply chain, to ensure supply and demand meet. This role owns the operations side of Base’s plan of record, consolidating plans from material, deployment, and production planners. The Master Planner will also be responsible for production planning, including the master production schedule for BF1 and future factories, and will own the requirements and direction for in-house planning systems, collaborating with the software team. As Base scales, this role is expected to take on broader ownership.

Requirements

• Ability to influence and align individuals across manufacturing, supply chain, deployments, software, and finance who do not report directly.
• Experience owning a master production schedule, master planning function, or S&OP process in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with MRP, capacity planning, and production activity control.
• Excellent analytical skills, including building models from scratch, working with large datasets at a daily grain, and defending assumptions.
• Experience writing software requirements and collaborating with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational plan of record, consolidating material, install/deployment, and manufacturing plans into a coherent daily plan and keeping them synchronized.
• Run recurring S&OP cadences with material, install, and production planners, reviewing plan vs. actuals, identifying constraints, and making decisions on tradeoffs.
• Act as an individual contributor for production scheduling, building and updating the master production schedule and build plan by line, component, and day.
• Set factory shift schedules and staffing requirements based on the build plan, considering inventory and cost implications.
• Manage inventory targets and netting across finished goods, work-in-progress, and raw materials.
• Automate reporting to surface blockers and opportunities across the system.
• Define requirements and direction for Base’s planning software, including data model, MRP logic, scenario planning, and interfaces.
• Build custom tools such as dashboards, planning models, and analyses as needed.
• Partner with Finance & Business Operations to align operational plans with financial plans and company targets.
