About The Position

Harsco Environmental is seeking a traveling Master Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their growing team. This role involves traveling to various sites to support local maintenance teams. Master mechanics are responsible for repairing, overhauling, or modifying complex vehicles and equipment that present unusually difficult problems due to intricate and interconnected mechanical and non-mechanical systems. The position offers a starting pay over $82,000 per year plus overtime, great benefits, and paid holidays. The ideal candidate enjoys traveling and working with off-road heavy mobile equipment.

Requirements

Ability to exercise judgment and independence in determining the methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair problems.
Ability to plan and improvise repair procedures.
Ability to find ways to mechanically and physically adapt or alter items to fit and mesh into systems for which the items were not specifically designed.
Ability to find ways to diagnose and correct defects when existing methods and procedures do not give the desired results.
Ability to determine work methods, sequences, tools, and equipment to use in making extensive and complex repairs.
Responsibility for a variety of systems or for the entire vehicle involving the repair, overhaul, or modification of engines, transmissions, or other major systems.
Ability to develop or improvise methods, alter parts, and make repairs in the absence of technical guidelines.
Ability to modify parts to fit and mesh into systems for which the parts were not designed.
Ability to improvise modifications to equipment to correct recurring malfunctions.
Ability to design modifications to meet special test requirements or other special needs.
Ability to use specialized diagnostic equipment to diagnose problems in complex state-of-the-art electric and electronic systems.
Ability to identify and replace defective components such as chips, sensors, and printed circuit boards.
