About The Position

The National Western Center (NWC) is seeking a skilled and experienced Master Electrician to join their team. As a key member of the operations department, the Master Electrician will oversee all electrical systems and infrastructure, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations throughout its facilities. This role is critical in supporting the NWC’s mission to provide a vibrant and sustainable environment for events, exhibitions, and community engagement. This is a multifaceted job with a broad spectrum of opportunities for professional development. You’ll join a small, nimble, collaborative, creative, and entrepreneurial team as we accelerate growth of a new events hub and innovation campus in Denver, Colorado.

Requirements

  • Valid Master Electrician License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed electrician, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience working in large facilities or venues preferred.
  • Experience working in the event industry with client and exhibitor electrical requests.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of electrical diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lb, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders as needed.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for facility events and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills; attention to detail and ability to analyze and process improve strongly preferred.
  • High EQ and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and complete electrical installation, repair, and maintenance projects.
  • Mentor and train maintenance staff in electrical practices and safety protocols.
  • Perform complex electrical installations and repairs for lighting, power distribution, control systems, and emergency backup systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and outages, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable safety regulations and codes.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols for electrical work.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Prepare reports on electrical systems, maintenance activities, and project status for management.
  • Work closely with other departments to support events and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for electrical projects and services as necessary.
  • Collaborate with event organizers to ensure their electrical requirements are met efficiently and safely.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues during events while providing on-site troubleshooting support to campus event organizers.
  • Coordinate with event organizers and electricians to maintain a safe and compliant environment throughout all events.
