About The Position

The Master Electrician – Service Technician performs residential electrical service calls, repairs, and installations, from diagnosis through completed, code-compliant work. This is a field-based, customer-facing role: the Master Electrician meets directly with homeowners, diagnoses issues, presents repair and upgrade options, and completes the sale and the work on the same visit. As the senior electrician on most calls, this role also mentors apprentices and journeymen in the field and upholds Anderson Air's standards for code compliance, safety, and customer care. This role reports to the Electrical Service Manager.

Requirements

  • Active Master Electrician license in the state of Arkansas (required).
  • 5+ years of hands-on residential electrical experience as a licensed journeyman or master electrician.
  • Expert knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), residential wiring, and local code requirements.
  • Proven ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical panel schedules.
  • Comfortable presenting repair/upgrade options and closing sales directly with customers.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with residential upgrades such as EV chargers, generators, smart panels, and smart home systems.
  • Prior experience mentoring or training apprentice and journeyman electricians.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a residential service environment.
  • Familiarity with tablet-based invoicing and field service management software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform residential electrical service calls, repairs, and installations, including panel upgrades, wiring, lighting, EV chargers, generators, and smart home systems.
  • Diagnose complex electrical faults using specialized testing tools and complete safe, code-compliant repairs.
  • Complete service invoices and job documentation using a tablet/iPad and communicate job details clearly to customers and the office.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area, service vehicle, and truck stock.
  • Identify opportunities to repair, upgrade, or improve the customer's electrical system and present options clearly and professionally.
  • Educate homeowners on recommended safety upgrades, code-required repairs, and maintenance options.
  • Close sales on repairs, upgrades, and maintenance agreements presented during the service call, and collect payment.
  • Represent Anderson Air with professionalism and a customer-first attitude on every job site.
  • Ensure all work meets the National Electrical Code (NEC), Arkansas licensing requirements, local codes, and company safety standards.
  • Pull permits and conduct final safety inspections to verify installations meet code before closing out a job.
  • Follow all safety protocols and use PPE correctly at all times.
  • Isolate and correct defects in wiring, switches, motors, panels, and other electrical equipment.
  • Guide and support apprentices and journeymen on job sites, offering hands-on training in techniques and procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch and the Electrical Service Manager on job status, parts needs, and scheduling.
  • Support department goals for quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and safety compliance.
