About The Position

DHT Group is seeking a high-level diesel technician to diagnose, lead, solve problems, and drive performance in their Reese, Michigan location. This is not a basic mechanic position; they are looking for an elite technician who can handle difficult jobs, identify failures others miss, eliminate downtime, mentor junior technicians, and keep equipment moving. DHT Group has over 40 years of experience and is expanding across multiple divisions, requiring top-tier technicians to lead their growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of diesel technician experience required
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting ability strongly preferred
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds safely and repeatedly
  • Sufficient eyesight to inspect equipment, identify defects, and perform detailed repair work
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and work in varying shop conditions
  • Must provide and maintain personal tools appropriate for the position
  • Strong attendance and dependability required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must possess a safety-first mindset and professional attitude
  • Valid driver’s license required

  • CDL preferred but not required

  • Perform advanced diesel diagnostics and system-level troubleshooting
  • Identify and resolve high-cost failures quickly and correctly
  • Handle critical breakdowns and complex repairs
  • Drive shop productivity and repair efficiency
  • Analyze recurring failures and identify long-term solutions
  • Assist with equipment specification and maintenance planning
  • Mentor and coach developing technicians
  • Lead by example in professionalism, urgency, and accountability
  • Help reduce downtime, comeback repairs, and cost-per-mile impact
