About The Position

The Master Data Management (MDM) Operations Manager will lead MDM strategy activities, aligning functional priorities across with enterprise objectives, with a direct understand of how Master Data creates value for 3M. This role will work closely with MDM leadership as well as 3M function leadership to assess needs, bring external best practices, identify strategic opportunities to drive value with Master Data, and help translate long-term goals into actionable plans for the Master Data Management discipline.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Strategy, Economics, Operations, Data Science (completed and verified prior to start)
Seven (7) years of experience in business operations, consulting, master data management in a private, public, government or military environment
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M. This agreement lays out key terms on using 3M Confidential Information and Trade Secrets. It also has provisions discussing conflicts of interest and how inventions are assigned.
Employees that are Job Grade 7 or equivalent and above may also have obligations to not compete against 3M or solicit its employees or customers, both during their employment, and for a period after they leave 3M.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in business administration or related discipline.
Ten (10) or more years of experience in business operations, consulting, master data management or a related field.
Experience working in a matrixed, global organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience interpreting data and turning insights into recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating presentations for senior leaders.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across functions and organizational levels.

Responsibilities

Ensure 3M derives value from Master Data.
Partner with 3M MDM and 3M functional leaders to develop and refine strategic priorities, annual plans, and multi-year roadmaps.
Conduct internal and external analysis to identify trends, risks, opportunities, best practices, and business implications affecting Master Data Management.
Support strategic initiative planning, including scope definition, milestones, dependencies, and success metrics.
Develop executive-ready presentations, reports, and briefing materials for leadership reviews and planning sessions.
Track progress against strategic goals and key performance indicators, highlighting risks and recommending corrective actions where needed.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment across 3M teams, stakeholders, and enterprise priorities.
Support budgeting and resource planning discussions by connecting investments to strategic objectives.
Perform scenario analysis and provide insights to support decision-making on organizational priorities and strategic trade-offs.
Assist with special projects and initiatives as required.
