About The Position

Weigel Broadcasting Co. is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Master Control Operator to join its Master Control Team in Chicago, Illinois. The role operates and monitors television broadcast equipment and supports the transmission of programs and commercials, as well as live and taped programming for television and multi-platform use. The position requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

At least two years of experience in broadcast or video production.
Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing and database software.
Hands-on experience operating television equipment, automation systems, and tape- and disk-based video servers.
Working knowledge of satellite controllers, video waveform monitors, vectorscopes, and master control switching and routing systems.
Ability to perform accurately and efficiently under the pressure of television operations control.
Responsible work habits and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and control television broadcast equipment.
Monitor television broadcast equipment to transmit television programs and commercials to the viewing audience.
Conduct on-air switching, dubbing, and transferring programs.
Manage and gather satellite feeds for broadcast use.
Support the production of newscasts and other live or taped programming for television and multi-platform use.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
