Requirements

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing software and Spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to set up and operate all brakes in their work area to qualify for Master Brake Operator designation, including properly making adjustments, consistently using pre-controls, and meeting or exceeding quality requirements
  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as tape measure, caliper, hook rule, etc.
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
  • The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blue prints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements
  • Set up, program, and operate brake presses in accordance with outlined methods and procedures to safely and properly form various parts
  • Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template
  • Position work piece against stops or align layout marks with die or blade
  • Coordinate foot and hand motions to operate equipment, including foot pedals
  • Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction
  • Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
  • Make adjustments on machine and programs as required; remove burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from work piece to comply with quality standards
  • Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or work pieces
  • Stack, mark and transport finished parts
  • Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production
  • Responsible for maintaining the 5s program to ensure a clean work area
  • Follow and understand HOMESafe, Persona Choice and company safety manual requirements
  • Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards
  • Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), obtain PIT License
  • All other duties as assigned
