About The Position
Community Automotive Repair, a locally owned and operated shop since 1975, is seeking to add a Master Certified Technician to its team of highly trained professionals. As a Master Certified Technician, you will join a team of the best technicians in the Greater Grand Rapids area. The shop offers a stable, secure, and safe working environment. Requirements
- 5+ years of professional technician experience
- Strong diagnostic tool mastery
- State Certifications required
- ASE Master preferred (or ready to complete immediately)
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics across complex electrical and drivability concerns
- Work in areas such as EV/Hybrid systems, performance upgrades, and major engine/transmission repair
- Follow a clear cause-and-effect process to identify secondary failures and related system issues
- Produce 40-55 hours (Level 3/4) or prioritize diagnostic accuracy as the primary specialist
- Test and inspect vehicles to evaluate symptoms
- Scan data, run parameters, and document findings and repair recommendations
- Solve issues through services and repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance and factory-recommended services on European, Import, and Unique vehicles
- Keep work area organized
- Complete quality control
- Prioritize workflow with the team
