Requirements
High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
Proof of motor vehicle liability insurance that meets minimum state requirements upon hire and upon request.
Constant standing and walking.
Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships.
Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
Occasional lifting/moving patients.
Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
Occasional driving.

Responsibilities
Schedules patient appointments, including set-ups, refits and follow-ups.
Fits patient with the appropriate prosthesis and accessories.
Ensures for proper fitting bra to support and protect the breast to improve circulation, lymphatic drainage, comfort, and physical appearance.
Evaluates prosthesis to ensure for positive outcomes for the client within the scope of services provided.
Triage patient phone calls, including troubleshooting basic mastectomy fitting questions and needs specific to the prosthesis and accessories.
Works as a liaison between the department and the referral sources.
Completes appropriate documentation.
Enters patients pertinent notes, and sales orders into operating system, completes other documentation related to mastectomy patients
Understands payer requirements and ensures adequate documentation is on file to meet insurance coverage requirements for the products.
May become certified and perform these functions for other product categories, such as diabetic footwear, compression stockings and garments, orthotics, lymphedema sleeves, etc.
Complies with applicable environmental safety regulations in all practice settings (e.g., pathogens, cross-infection, workplace hazards).
Assists and provides training to other staff or other health care professionals on current information relating to mastectomy fitting.
Assists with maintaining appropriate inventory levels and auditing inventory as necessary.
Remains up to date on developments as related to improvements in mastectomy product technology and regulatory compliance.
Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
