About The Position

Mass General Brigham Health Plan is seeking a collaborative and technically skilled Senior MassHealth Encounter Data Analyst to support critical regulatory reporting and analytics initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of business, compliance, and data engineering, playing a key role in translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable technical solutions. Approximately 50% of this role focuses on cross-functional partnership, working closely with internal stakeholders—including Compliance and Risk Adjustment teams—as well as external regulatory agencies. The Senior MassHealth Encounter Data Analyst will gather, interpret, and translate detailed regulatory requirements for MassHealth Encounter, ODAG, and CDAG reporting, ensuring developers have clear, accurate technical specifications to support compliant data submissions. The remaining 50% of the role is highly technical, involving hands-on data analysis and development using SQL, SSRS, and SSIS. This includes designing, validating, and optimizing data pipelines and reports, as well as performing in-depth analysis to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and alignment with regulatory expectations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in data analysis required
  • Experience with MassHealth Encounter, ODAG, and CDAG reporting high preferred
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data visualization, and Business Intelligence tools, such as Tableau.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate complex workflows and data to a variety of audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Project management skills and/or experience are a plus.
  • Knowledge and application of statistical analyses including variance analysis and statistical significant preferred.
  • Healthcare knowledge, particularly as it pertains to electronic medical record data, is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and transform large and complex data sets from various sources for analysis.
  • Partner with aligned senior leaders to determine and plan for data analytics/reporting needs of a business unit or functional area(s).
  • Mentor and train other data analysts.
  • Identify trends, correlations, and anomalies in data and provide explanations or recommendations based on findings.
  • Create clear, concise, and visually compelling data visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
  • Present complex data and analytical findings in a meaningful and understandable manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Performs comprehensive quality assurance, ensuring that data and reports meet end-user specifications and are accurate and reliable.
