About The Position
Dr. Wilkinson's Backyard Resort & Mineral Springs is seeking both Full-Time and Part-Time Massage Therapists to provide professional, therapeutic, and rejuvenating massage therapies and body treatments to spa guests. This is an on-site, non-exempt position reporting to the Spa Director. The resort is an iconic destination in Calistoga, offering traditional spa treatments and a newly renovated, mid-century inspired design with updated accommodations, a new restaurant, and a re-imagined spa.
Requirements
- Must adhere to state sanitation laws and requirements.
- Must have an ability to learn new spa services to meet the needs of the spa.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
- Possess a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
- Must have an understanding of sales and the importance of meeting goals.
- Must be trustworthy and reliable.
- Patience and tact required to accommodate customer needs and resolve occasional difficult situations.
Responsibilities
- Perform all massage and body work services including table and chair massage, body treatments, bath treatments, and foot treatments following established protocols and allotted treatment times.
- Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide the highest level of personalized guest service while maintaining an enthusiastic and helpful attitude.
- Conserve and monitor supplies and assets of the spa.
- Complete shift checklists on a daily basis, replenishing supplies, cleaning equipment, and re-stocking laundry.
- Attend all scheduled treatment and product knowledge training sessions.
- Directly set and maintain high standards of service and cleanliness.
- Assist in the training of other team members as directed.
- Assist with special projects, events, and promotions as needed.
- Promote spa services and products throughout the property.
- Use available time to help with spa operations as requested.
- Up-sell treatments to guests as appropriate.
- Prescribe in written format home care products and treatments as appropriate.
- Represent the spa and hotel in a positive and professional manner as requested.
- Continually market the spa internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
- Follow all company safety standards, including proper equipment handling to avoid injury to yourself and others.
- Attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
- Perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
