About The Position

The Massage Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to Guests of Spa at Thunder Valley, and effectively provides wellness solutions to meet their needs. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. The role involves practicing, supporting, and promoting Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrating AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times. The therapist is expected to be prompt with appointments, properly open and close shifts, and provide consistent professional treatments according to Spa protocols and certification practices. This includes educating guests about wellness concerns, caring for equipment, managing product usage, and maintaining sanitation standards. The therapist will also perform prep work, clean and restock rooms, manage supplies, and communicate any staff or guest occurrences to management. Active promotion of Spa services, retail, programs, and discounts is also part of the role, along with developing professional relationships with regular guests for personalized service. Accurate descriptions of treatments and facility features, professional handling of guest questions and concerns, and maintaining confidentiality are essential. The position requires the ability to work without direct supervision, maintain a positive attitude, and participate in training and staff meetings. Assistance in all areas of spa operation as requested by management is also expected, along with maintaining Hazard Communication Standard and familiarity with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of experience in Resort Spa environment.
  • Must have and maintain a current California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) certification, including completion of required continuing education.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities and possess a general understanding of body treatments.
  • Must be willing to train in the Spa’s specific massage and body treatment offerings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Enjoy working with people and display a friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Responsibilities

  • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
  • Be prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
  • Properly open and close each shift according to standard operating procedures.
  • Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with Spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
  • Effectively inform and educate our guests about specific wellness concerns.
  • Be flexible with schedule, supporting the needs of the Spa.
  • Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the Spa’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform prep work and properly clean and restock room as required.
  • Ensure adequate stock of supplies and equipment, and inform management when stock is low.
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the Spa that require attention.
  • Actively promote the Spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions, and discounts as available.
  • Develop professional relationship with regular guests in order to provide personalized service tailored to individual Guests’ preferences.
  • Provide accurate and detailed descriptions of treatments, packages, services, treatment contraindications, facility features and hours of operation.
  • Respond to Guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality in all Guest matters in accordance with company policy.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by Guests.
  • Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the Spa.
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Hazard Communication Standard for your area.
  • Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals.
