About The Position

The Massage Therapist provides professional, personalized massage services and other body treatments to promote clients’ relaxation, stress relief, health, and wellness. The role requires proficiency in a variety of massage techniques and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences in a clean, safe, and welcoming spa environment. The therapist consults with clients to understand their wellness goals, customizes treatments to their needs and preferences, and may recommend other treatments or wellness products. The position is part-time at Spa Southern Highlands, an exclusive, private membership-based club.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited massage therapy program.
• Valid state license and/or certification in massage therapy.
• Proficiency in a range of massage techniques and therapies.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to assess client needs and customize services accordingly.
• Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical work, including bending, lifting, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Five or more years of hands-on experience is preferred; recent graduates may be considered depending on the role and training.

Responsibilities

• Perform chair massage, Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, body treatments, and other modalities based on client needs and preferences.
• Consult with clients to understand their individual wellness goals and tailor treatments accordingly.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and treatment rooms in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Keep accurate records of services provided and client preferences for future visits.
• Maintain a professional and courteous manner to create a relaxing and respectful environment.
• Recommend additional treatments or wellness products based on client needs.
• Follow appointment schedules and manage time effectively to avoid delays.
• Stay current with industry trends, continuing education, and licensure requirements.
• Follow facility policies, procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.
