About The Position

The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing quality professional service in the administration of massage therapy and body treatments to guests of the Spa. This role requires effective communication, adherence to hotel standards, proficiency in various massage techniques and body treatments, and maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the spa facilities. The therapist will also be involved in promoting and selling spa products, managing inventory, and assisting with front desk or locker room functions as needed.

Requirements

  • License or certification from an accredited school of massage/body work required.
  • Current CAMTC or City of Napa Massage permit is required.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be able to perform various types of massage; i.e. Swedish, Sports, Shiatsu, deep tissue, Reflexology, etc.
  • Must be proficient in all components of massage therapy; i.e. anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, etc.
  • Must be proficient in a variety of body treatments; i.e. exfoliation, masks, wraps, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the facilities including ensuring facility/amenities are in proper working order.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, clean after each treatment, and maintain inventory levels of linens and supplies.
  • Maintain current licenses and certifications as required.
  • Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for up to 7 hours per day.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year experience in massage therapy preferred.
  • 1-year spa experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of additional therapies desired.
  • CPR Certification desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality professional service in the administration of massage therapy and body treatments to guests.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Participate in all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
  • Perform various types of massage, including Swedish, Sports, Shiatsu, deep tissue, and Reflexology.
  • Be proficient in all components of massage therapy, including anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Be proficient in a variety of body treatments, including exfoliation, masks, and wraps.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the facilities, ensuring facility/amenities are in proper working order.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, clean after each treatment, and maintain inventory levels of linens and supplies.
  • Provide Spa tours as necessary.
  • Promote and sell Spa approved facial and body products using a prescription pad.
  • Check appointment schedule and print daily activities as required, and complete daily reports.
  • Ensure inventory control through proper usage of products.
  • Maintain current licenses and certifications as required.
  • Assist with front desk or locker room functions, as necessary.
  • Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
