About The Position

The Massage Therapist is responsible for setting up treatment stations, greeting guests and explaining services, conducting pre-treatment consultations, promoting treatment products, and maintaining treatment rooms. The Massage Therapist will be knowledgeable of spa operations, including treatments, packages, and use of all spa equipment. They will set up treatment stations, ensuring all products and equipment are present and equipment is in working order. The Massage Therapist will greet guests, confirm services, and escort to treatment room, ensuring medical releases are signed, as required. They will conduct pre-treatment consultations, explain draping procedures to guests and ensure they are followed, and conduct treatments. The Massage Therapist will promote and sell treatment products according to guest needs and preferences. They will ensure treatment rooms and stations are maintained before and after each use, including removing all used linen, removing trash, cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, and restocking supplies. The Massage Therapist will maintain positive and professional communication with all team members, provide recognition to others, and participate in meetings to learn about global programs, new products and procedures, and to discuss areas of opportunities, special events, and other activities. They will ensure a healthy and safe work environment for co-workers and guests. The Massage Therapist will be knowledgeable of property facilities, services, hours of operation, in-house events, conferences, and amenities to proactively assist guests, and promote property outlets to guests. They will assist guests in finding locations within the property by escorting, when possible, or giving clear directions, and resolve guest complaints using property procedures. The Massage Therapist will create a positive environment in which all team members have the ability to maximize their potential. They will listen to comments, criticisms, and feedback from guests, employees, and managers to gain an understanding of strength and opportunity to improve personal/property performance. The Massage Therapist will work as a team, helping all team members to complete the required activities that ensure we deliver Amplified Service. They will participate in Sound Check meetings on each shift, always smile and offer a warm greeting to all. The Massage Therapist will know, understand, and practice (with energy and enthusiasm) the mission, values, mottos, culture and spirit that make Hard Rock unique. They will operate ethically to protect the Hard Rock brand and perform duties in accordance with company standards, policies, and guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations. They will perform additional duties as requested by department managers and supervisors, and communicate with supervisors and managers to ensure that assigned duties are completed to standard. The Massage Therapist will coordinate operations with other departments, as needed, and maintain confidentiality of guest, team member, and company information. They will ensure all property policies and procedures are fully implemented in department, including health and safety guidelines, maintain effective relationships with guests, and present a professional image to team members, guests, clients, owners, and investors. They will perform general administrative duties and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid State of Virginia Massage License required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience, preferably in a luxury resort spa environment.
  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming/Lottery regulations.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to comprehend and use basic language, either written or spoken, to communicate information and ideas.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external guests and team members, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
  • Fluency in English: additional languages preferred.
