About The Position

The Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) role at MPOWER Physical Therapy is ideal for individuals seeking long-term stability, consistent referral opportunities, and a collaborative work environment. LMTs partner closely with physical therapists and personal trainers to deliver safe, medically informed, and coordinated massage therapy services to our patients and clients. Part-time LMTs (20+ hours per week) are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, a 401(k), paid time off, licensure reimbursement, and more. MPOWER Physical Therapy takes a multidisciplinary approach to care, integrating orthopedics, physical and occupational therapy, personal training, massage therapy, and nutrition services. Requirements

  • Current certification through an accredited program of Massage Therapy
  • Current Massage Therapists license is valid in the state of Tennessee
  • CPR certification is required
  • Minimum one year of professional massage therapy experience required
  • Excellent knowledge in physiology and working knowledge of human anatomy and orthopedics
  • Neat, professional appearance along with kind and helpful personality
  • Handle difficult situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent follow up skills with clients and fellow team members
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Maintain patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the company
  • Comfortably effectively using MS office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook with various internet applications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Understand, implement, and uphold the MPOWER model
  • Evaluate, treat clients, and complete documentation in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain a set number of massage hours per week set by MPOWER management
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the facility (including availability for all team and individual meetings) and a minimum of 20 weekly hours
  • Integrate other MPOWER services into client care including physical therapy, personal training, nutrition, and collaboration with these and any other referring providers
  • Communicate with physical therapists and other referral sources regarding the treatment and progress of their patients and clients
  • Manage administrative tasks consistently including but not limited to ensuring all client sessions are paid for and checked out and check company email daily
  • Manage, track, and follow up with clients after each massage to ensure retainment of clients
  • Keep accurate record of massage hours via MPOWER’s administrative software daily; PRN massage therapists will be compensated for massage, room flip, and meeting time only
  • Play an active role in recruitment and training as needed
  • Submit accurate and timely tip reporting
  • Communicate time off at least one month in advance and ensure all clients are scheduled to work with other massage therapists
