About The Position
The Recreation and Wellbeing Extra Help Massage Therapist at UIC delivers high-quality, professional massage therapy services, ensuring safety and effectiveness. This service is designed to enhance mind-body wellness. Appointments are primarily held at both the Student Recreation Facility and Sport & Fitness Center but occasionally may take place throughout various locations on campus and the local area.
Requirements
- Current Massage Therapy License in the State of Illinois from: IDFPR- Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective massage techniques to clientele, ensuring equipment is functional and the massage room is clean.
- Maintain proper client draping and ensure a risk-free, enjoyable, and relaxing atmosphere.
- Engage in high-end customer service, including communicating with clients about massage pressure and adjusting techniques as needed.
- Participate in chair massage events.
- Assess client backgrounds, including medical histories and treatment goals.
- Accurately complete SOAP notes for every client after each session.
- Follow HIPAA Compliance policies.
- Maintain yearly insurance and current licensure with the State of Illinois.
- Enforce policies and rules as provided by supervisor.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
