About The Position

Nature of Work Skilled work in the construction, masonry and concrete structures; concrete work and installations, and cement finishing; plastering; layout and install floor and wall tile; insulate and repair.

Requirements

Eighteen (18) months full-time verifiable experience in concrete finishing work and form building including curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and slabs.
Driver's license.
Obtain Class "B" Florida Commercial Driver's License valid for air brakes within ninety (90) days of appointment.
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact.
Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, word processor, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
Significant walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, and kneeling.
Some crawling, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, pushing, and pulling.
Heavy lifting - excessive bending and kneeling.
Tasks require the regular and sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that generally involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals.
All tasks require the ability to communicate orally
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, coworkers, the press the general public and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation, gender identity or sexual orientation.
Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of all city ethics and conflicts of interest policies.
Strong understanding of ethical behavior is required
Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Reports to work as directed during an emergency as an essential employee of the City of Miami Beach.
