About The Position

Specialty Coating Systems (SCS) is seeking entry-level Maskers for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. No prior experience is necessary. This role involves masking and/or demasking customer product for Parylene coating, with opportunities to learn through a masker certification program. Other duties may include cleaning, surface preparation, inspection, packaging, shipping, receiving, and fixture refurbishing. SCS has over 55 years of experience in conformal coating engineering and applications, serving industries such as Medical Devices, Electronics, Automotive, Aerospace, and Defense. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. May complete the SCS Reading Comprehension assessment in lieu of GED.
  • Must clearly speak, read, and write English.
  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to communicate uncomplicated data, instructions, production results, quality issues, and similar subjects both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to work in a seated position for extended periods of time.
  • High degree of manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to perform precision masking and demasking functions.
  • Ability to distinguish between the colors of red, orange, yellow, blue, green, and violet.
  • Able to read at a 20/20 visual acuity using a Jaeger eye chart (near vision) with or without vision correction. Able to read No. 1 at 14” distance, or No. 2 at 20” distance, or No. 3 at 24” distance.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow designated processes, work instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSP’s), and other written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Perform basic masking/demasking and inspection tasks using specified methods and materials, employing small hand tools, microscopes, and/or other support equipment.
  • Inspect own work for quality compliance.
  • May inspect, disassemble, clean, refurbish, and/or reassemble coating fixtures.
  • Comply with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling requirements when required and appropriate.
  • Maintain a high level of punctuality and attendance.
  • May operate precision measuring instruments and record results.
  • May perform daily tasks in a clean room environment, requiring compliance with clean room protocols, including PPE and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Adhere to plant and corporate safety policies.
  • May be responsible for proper disposal, packaging, labeling, shipping, or inspection of hazardous materials or waste in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
