About The Position

Mascot Assistants support the San Antonio Spurs organization’s on-site and off-site mascot appearances and help bring mascot performances to life. They serve as the voice and ambassador for the mascots, represent the organization at community events, and help deliver engaging entertainment experiences for fans. Assistants may also support games and, when needed, perform as costumed characters. The role involves appearances and events throughout San Antonio, Austin, and surrounding South Texas areas, with a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with large groups and children.
• Reliable means of communication, including a personal cell phone and email access.
• Outgoing, adaptable, and resourceful personality.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and highly driven.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for a long period of time.
• Ability to hold 25 pounds for an extended period.

Responsibilities

• Assist mascots during appearances and games throughout San Antonio, Austin, and surrounding South Texas areas.
• Deliver a high level of customer service to internal and external partners, event coordinators, and fans.
• Support event preparation, including logistics and setup and breakdown of supplies and props.
• Assist mascots with creative performance planning and execution for San Antonio Spurs and Austin Spurs games and events.
• Perform as a costumed character when needed.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
