About The Position

The Marketing Specialist responsible for the implementation of marketing tactics that sustain and strengthen marketing strategies for the system, in general, and for assigned service lines, in particular. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the marketing specialist provides comprehensive support and assistance with day-to-day activities, exercising independent judgment and creativity. Essential to the job are strong interpersonal, design, writing, organizational and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications and/ or business or related fields preferred.
  • A minimum of five years progressively more responsible related professional experience in marketing and public relations, including project management experience.
  • Must understand and be knowledgeable of marketing principles and practices, including message development, advertising, media (both traditional and digital), and community outreach/publicity vehicles.
  • Must have experience in: Project management, Event planning
  • Must be knowledgeable in: Social media, Traditional and digital media
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Content Management Systems.
  • Must be team player, self-motivated, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Knowledgeable of marketing principles and practices, including message development, advertising, media, and community outreach/publicity vehicles is a must.
  • Requires demonstrated competence in project management with strong communications, design, conceptual, organizational and computer skills.
  • Must have demonstrated computer proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Office applications; especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe PhotoShop.
  • Must be customer-service oriented and able to effectively communicate and build relationships with co-workers and key stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
  • Professionalism in interpersonal verbal and written communication skills with colleagues, physicians and ancillary department personnel is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication experience and skills required, including knowledge of 'AP' style.
  • Must demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and discretion in dealing with confidential information.
  • Must be a self-starter who is well organized, efficient and exhibits a professional, friendly attitude in person and on the phone.

Responsibilities

  • Support system's marketing strategy, brand development, and Internet strategy through implementation of tactical initiatives.
  • Assist Marketing Manager in fulfilling clinical department marketing priorities.
  • Provide project management and evaluation for assigned projects.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing department colleagues, public relations personnel, and clinical department staff.
  • Recommend and implement projects that fall within service-line budgets.
  • Track activities and expenditures with project tracking software
  • Conduct competitive assessments and benchmarking initiatives
  • Employ project management techniques to achieve project completion on schedule and within budget
  • Draft, edit and/or proofread copy for a variety purposes (e.g., announcements, posters, letters, invitations, brochure copy, advertisements, web pages, etc.)
  • Design advertising and collateral material while maintaining consistency with brand or sub-branding guidelines.
  • Collaborate with external/internal design and/or production firms on creative ideas and design options.
  • Manage production of printed material and nurture vendors' relations to achieve timely, cost-effective outcomes.
  • Will review and authorize approvals per project.
  • Assist with development of marketing and public relations strategies and tactics and evaluate the results against measurable goals.
  • Will research and secure mailing lists for direct mail campaigns and manage distribution using internal or external mail-house resources.
  • Coordinates the submission of advertisements to media outlets, in concert with media strategy.
  • Provides advertising, marketing, and logistical support for special events and community outreach projects (open houses, consumer and/or physician events, health fairs, public lectures and screenings, and other community outreach activities).
  • Attends to the details of special event implementation and follow-up, collaborating with internal personnel and external resources, as necessary.
