About The Position

Berkley Risk is seeking a Marketing Representative to join their team. This role involves executing a structured marketing and prospecting plan to identify and evaluate prospective agents, brokers, and program partners. The representative will communicate underwriting appetite, program parameters, and service capabilities to external partners, support the development of distribution channels, and collaborate with Underwriting to ensure accurate risk evaluation. The position also requires monitoring agency and broker performance, gathering market intelligence, and assisting in the creation of marketing materials. Participation in industry events and maintaining accurate documentation of activities are also key responsibilities. This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 3-5+ years of experience in commercial insurance, program administration, or a related field.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in commercial insurance, program administration, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance, self-insured programs, and alternative risk structures.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate risk characteristics and apply underwriting guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with agents, brokers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, matrixed environment across multiple locations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and propose creative solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and insurance-related systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a structured marketing and prospecting plan to identify and evaluate prospective agents, brokers, and program partners.
  • Represent Berkley Risk programs and services to distribution partners, self-insured groups, and industry associations.
  • Exercise limited underwriting authority to review submissions, assess risk characteristics, and recommend pricing or terms within established guidelines.
  • Communicate underwriting appetite, program parameters, and service capabilities to external partners.
  • Support the development and expansion of distribution channels aligned with company goals.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting to ensure accurate risk evaluation and consistent application of program guidelines.
  • Monitor agency and broker performance relative to production, profitability, and service expectations; provide feedback and recommendations to leadership.
  • Gather and report on competitive intelligence, market trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing materials, presentations, and program communications.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and onsite meetings with agents, brokers, and clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of marketing activities, agency interactions, and underwriting decisions.
  • May perform other functions as assigned.
