About The Position

Assists and supports the Marketing Department with the set-up, execution, and follow-up of casino promotions and events on select shifts by performing various duties to support customers’ visits and/or events. Responsible for attending the Marketing Center, Box Office and Event Center counters as needed. This may include but not be limited to handling cash and Guest Comps. Assists all customers (internal and external) with their concerns. Welcomes bus patrons, confirming, counting, balancing, and distribution of any coupons. Accurately completes paperwork supporting promotions and bus. Light clerical work to include but not be limited to; using promotional software, envelope stuffing, filing, faxing, and copying. Assists guests by directing them to appropriate areas and contacting departments for guest needs. Explains promotions and provides accurate and up-to-date information about the casino, hotel, and food and beverage outlets to guests. Responsible for educating patrons on the value of the loyalty program; assists patrons with questions as they relate to the property and loyalty program. Works in conjunction with other departments on an as-needed basis. Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Adheres to all company, state, and regulatory policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory compliance within the area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with guests.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
  • Obtain and maintain a license by the WV Racing Commission and WV Lottery.
  • Successfully complete and maintain certification in the Beverage Service Program (TIPS) as may be required for this position.
