About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Marketing Proposal Specialist II to join their West Water Marketing Team. This role will collaborate with the West Region business development and operations team on pursuits, including preparing formal and informal client solicitations like expressions of interest (EOI), requests for qualifications (RFQ), requests for proposals (RFP), and pre-qualification efforts. This is a hybrid position, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work, and can be based in offices located in Los Angeles, CA; Orange, CA; San Francisco, CA; Oakland, CA; Sacramento, CA; and Denver, CO.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field plus 2 years of experience and/or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors and 4+ years of managing design proposals, particularly winning work for A/E pursuits.
  • Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E industry.
  • A detailed knowledge of marketing best practices and procedures, work processes, and tools.
  • A working knowledge of InDesign as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • A working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.
  • An understanding of CRM Salesforce experience.
  • Initiative, skill, and personal commitment to manage multiple projects and details concurrently, follow up, and bring tasks and projects to full completion.
  • Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with large proposals and is capable of leading small to medium proposals (cross regions or business lines), supporting from capture through to interview stage as needed.
  • Coordinates content and information for qualifications and proposals, including schedule, templates, compliance, content plan, and production.
  • Provides conceptual leadership for document design.
  • May serve as lead writer/editor for resumes and past performance sections for proposals.
  • May facilitate color review (Pink and Red team) reviews and apply lessons learned to enhance proposals.
  • Manages the implementation of proposal and presentation revisions based on direction from review teams.
  • Participates in go/no-go and greenlight analyses in compliance with delegation of authority guidelines, capture planning, and positioning activities related to proposal preparation.
  • Completes internal debriefs for proposals they lead and reviews debriefs and client feedback on proposals to ensure and demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Has solid working knowledge of company quality procedures and approval processes (legal, contracts, DOA, signatory).
  • Liaises with appropriate business line teams, operations, technical, and business development professionals to support or develop marketing information (including case studies/project sheets and capabilities summaries).
  • Provides guidance to entry-level proposal team members.
  • Performs self-checks of work before submitting for review/approval.
