About The Position

This position is within the Structural Heart division, aiming to restore health and improve quality of life through device and management solutions for Structural Heart disease. The role is responsible for developing and growing the CALA (Latin America) Structural Heart Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVI) markets and maintaining market share in Surgical Valves (SV). The Marketing Manager will create strategic direction for downstream commercial marketing activities for both TAVI and SV portfolios in CALA, implement training SOPs for sales force and professional education, and ensure strategies align with divisional commercial and financial objectives. This role reports to the CALA Structural Heart Group Marketing Manager and has full CALA accountability, working closely with Country Managers, other Marketing leaders, Global Marketing, and Training leaders to ensure successful product launches, sales force training, and business expansion.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. degree required.
  • Fluency in English, Spanish and/or Portuguese.
  • Medical device and/or healthcare industry experience.
  • Knowledge/ability to develop and execute a 'new' product launch.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to complete multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to travel required (30%).

Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing, promotional, and sales plans for TAVI and SV products in short/medium/long-term increments (1-3 years), considering market differences, product life cycles, regions, countries, product availability, investments, resources, positioning, strategies, prices, and commercial/financial goals.
  • Lead, coordinate, and manage the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for the region, ensuring clear communication and correct prioritization based on business needs.
  • Present proposals for marketing, promotional, and sales planning to decision committees within the region and business unit.
  • Monitor the implementation of defined strategic objectives, analyze tendencies, identify opportunities, and define actions to achieve commercial and financial goals for TAVI and SV products.
  • Monitor the commercial and financial performance of TAVI and SV products, compare Plan to Actual results, analyze market trends, company performance, profitability, and product contribution, and suggest actions for optimization.
  • Lead the product launch process, alterations, and/or discontinuations for the TAVI and SV portfolios, complying with company processes and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the SH Global Marketing organization to verify inventory availability, part number changes, and specifications for defining sales and marketing strategies in CALA.
  • Define strategies for approach, promotion, and promotional material for TAVI and SV products, identifying positioning, benefits, and key messages.
  • Define specific strategies for relationships with key opinion leaders for TAVI and SV products.
  • Segment the market and define clear strategies for different clusters.
  • Identify potential synergy opportunities across Abbott for the division, implementing pilot projects where feasible.
  • Maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and promote the positioning of TAVI and SV products.
  • Develop creative solutions to navigate different business models.
  • Accompany sales force visits, provide coaching, and identify needs for the CALA region.
  • Ensure correct positioning and messaging is adopted and spread.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the SH Global Training organization and successfully implement and monitor existing training SOPs for the sales force and physicians.
  • Conduct training for the sales force and monitor the results achieved.
  • Comply with company requirements and procedures, ensuring high scientific knowledge levels within the group, including distributor markets.
  • Communicate strategies of TAVI and SV products to the sales force and incentivize the adoption of planned actions.
  • Ensure promotional materials and training procedures align with defined strategies.
  • Create reports/dashboards with managerial information for TAVI and SV products, considering local and international requirements.
  • Manage the product life cycle for TAVI and SV products, creating alternatives that ensure the highest level of profitability and longest product life cycle.
