About The Position

The City of Hampton is seeking an innovative Marketing Manager to lead marketing efforts for the Hampton Coliseum, The American Theatre, and The Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center. This role is for a driven professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels in cross-platform promotions, and is ready to lead digital, print, and grassroots marketing strategies to generate ticket sales and elevate community engagement.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations, or a closely related field of study from an accredited college or university.
Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in marketing and/or public relations.
One (1) year of supervisory experience.
Experience implementing modern management methods by incorporating long-range planning techniques and exhibiting leadership skills.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
Must successfully pass a background check before any offer of employment or promotion.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, databases, presentations, and Adobe Photoshop.
Knowledge of a variety of social media platforms and use of these platforms in a professional environment is required.
Knowledge of website content management software.

Marketing for public assembly facilities hosting a wide range of entertainment events is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns for events, classes, and programs.
Manage media buys, advertising budgets, sponsorships, and promotions.
Oversee digital presence, including social media, email campaigns, and websites.
Supervise marketing staff, providing mentorship and performance feedback.
Build community connections and foster brand consistency across venues.
