About The Position

Toast creates technology to help restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world, helping business owners operate, increase sales, engage customers, and keep employees happy. The Organic Growth Marketing team is looking for a data-driven Manager, SEO & Organic Growth to grow our organic engine. In this role, you won’t just chase keywords; you will architect the strategy that ensures our brand is the primary answer wherever our customers are asking questions—whether that’s in Google Search or next-generation Large Language Models (LLMs). You will partner closely with our Web Analytics team (who manage the site roadmap and CRO) and our Brand & Authority team (who execute distribution and PR) to drive measurable revenue. You are the strategist, the forecaster, and the subject matter expert who connects these dots to deliver organic wins.

Requirements

  • 3-6+ years of experience in SEO or Growth Marketing, preferably in B2B SaaS or a high-velocity digital environment, with 6-8+ years of related experience overall.
  • Revenue-First Mindset: You are comfortable being measured on pipeline and revenue, not just clicks.
  • The "Bridge" Builder: You excel in a matrixed environment. You can hand off technical specs to Web Analytics or distribution targets to Brand without micromanaging their execution.
  • Analytical Fluency: You don't need to be a data scientist, but you must be comfortable interpreting attribution models and working with data teams to forecast impact.
  • LLM Curiosity: You have a point of view on how AI is reshaping search (SGE/AEO) and are eager to test strategies for "Zero-Click" optimization.
  • Tech Stack Proficiency: Deep familiarity with Ahrefs/Semrush, Google Search Console, and Screaming Frog. Familiarity with Salesforce, Sigma, Heap, Hex, Profound a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience specifically with Programmatic SEO or managing large-scale directory pages.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or Python for data extraction.
  • Experience optimizing for "Agentic" search or building Knowledge Graph entities.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Number: You are ultimately accountable for increasing Organic-attributed opportunities and Closed-Won revenue. You will be responsible for increasing search visibility, traffic, and conversions building high-intent pipeline generation.
  • Define the Strategy: You will build the SEO requirements to help guide our web and content roadmap. You provide the "what" and "why" for technical SEO and site architecture, partnering with the Web Analytics and Engineering teams for implementation and testing.
  • "Agentic" Search (GEO): You will pioneer our strategy for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). You will analyze how our brand appears in AI answers (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) and guide our Content team on how to structure data to be "machine-readable" and cited by AI agents.
  • Guide Authority Building: You will identify high-value offsite targets and opportunities for the Brand team to activate. You will evaluate the SEO lift of their PR and distribution efforts, ensuring we build a diverse and authoritative link profile.
  • Forecast & Model: Partner with Marketing Ops, Web Analytics, and Finance to build robust forecasting models. You will analyze the impact of algorithm updates and strategy pivots to report ROI to leadership.
  • Content Intelligence: Continuous audit of our content library and provide the Content team with clustered keyword insights and entity gaps to ensure we maintain historical rankings and capture new intent.
