We are searching for the best talent for a Marketing Manager, Portfolio Strategy & Lifecycle Management to join our J&J Vision team. This position is based in Irvine, CA. Purpose: The Marketing Manager will play a critical role in shaping the future of the surgical vision portfolio. This individual will support the development and execution of the long-term global portfolio strategy, lead day-to-day lifecycle management (LCM) activities, and collaborate across regions and cross-functional teams to ensure business continuity, compliance, and competitiveness amid evolving regulatory and market dynamics. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, strong project manager, and collaborative partner who can simplify complexity, work independently, and influence without authority. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to JJSV’s largest product platform and to support innovation that impacts millions of patients globally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years business experience is required.
  • Experience in strategic marketing, upstream marketing, product management, or related commercial function.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end life cycle management for highly regulated industry and driving SKU rationalization.
  • Understanding demand planning and the ability to interpret demand inputs, supply considerations and inventory needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical information into clear, customer-relevant insights.
  • Experience managing timelines, stakeholders, and multiple priorities in a matrixed environment.
  • Up to 10% domestic or international travel may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical devices, ophthalmology, or other regulated healthcare categories.
  • Prior experience to lifecycle management, portfolio optimization, SKU rationalization, or capacity strategy.
  • Experience supporting global or regional marketing in diverse markets.
  • Proficiency with Excel dashboards, analytics, and data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Strategy & Market Insights Support global portfolio strategy development for the TECNIS cataract suite, informed by insights, competitive assessments, clinical trends, and market needs.
  • Conduct portfolio analyses to evaluate performance, pricing, mix, evidence needs, and long-term strategic opportunities.
  • Support business cases, scenario planning, and strategic recommendations for future portfolio evolution.
  • Lifecycle Management (LCM) Execution Lead project management of the global IOL LCM strategy, ensuring milestones, deliverables, risk mitigation, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, R&D, RA/QA, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Finance, P2P, and Regional Marketing and Regional LCM teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Track financial and operational impact across LCM programs, including margin, COGS, SKU optimization, and capacity considerations.
  • Develop clear, visual dashboards to track program progress, identify risks, and communicate updates to senior leadership and governance bodies.
  • Maintain program documentation, timelines, stakeholder updates, and governance submissions (ICLT, IPT, PMR).
  • Spearhead process and system changes to support automation of process Provide process improvements based on learnings and recommendations
  • Core Portfolio Support Support the global strategy, positioning, and evidence/messaging needs for the TECNIS Monofocal and OVD product line.
  • Partner with regional teams to gather insights, align on market needs, and support commercial execution.
  • Cross-Functional & Regional Collaboration Act as day-to-day contact for regional marketing partners to support alignment, communication, and execution readiness.
  • Build strong relationships across key functional partners to support portfolio, LCM, and brand strategy.
  • Support creation of strategic narratives, value propositions, marketing materials, and internal/external communications.
  • Team & Organizational Leadership Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
  • Support knowledge-sharing and mentorship of junior team members.
  • Uphold and integrate Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives.
