About The Position

OfferUp is seeking a summer intern to join our brand and social team. This role will focus on brainstorming, briefing, capturing, and executing social-first creative content tailored for Gen Z and young millennial audiences. The internship emphasizes understanding the business behind creative, including consumer behavior, brand growth, campaign measurement, and marketplace engagement. It's an opportunity to learn how a brand drives growth through attention, rather than just focusing on content creation.

Requirements

  • A student or recent grad interested in marketing, social, brand, creative strategy, or consumer tech.
  • Deep familiarity with how people actually consume and share content today across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Strong creative instincts and the ability to explain why an idea will or won't land.
  • Good judgment, clockwork reliability, and a proactive, low-ego, high-energy approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience making short-form content for yourself, a club, a small business, or a brand.
  • Experience interviewing people, editing video, or writing hooks and captions.
  • Comfortable on camera.
  • A real perspective on resale, thrifting, sustainability, local shopping, dorm/apartment setup, or how Gen Z finds deals.
  • Being the person friends trust to be up on the latest trends in social.

Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm and develop ideas for the organic social calendar alongside the social team.
  • Identify trends, formats, creators, and conversations OfferUp can authentically participate in.
  • Support short-form video concepts for TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, and beyond — capturing or appearing in content depending on comfort and fit.
  • Run lightweight man-on-the-street interviews on campus or in local communities.
  • Assist with briefs, shot lists, content organization, and basic production coordination.
  • Monitor content resonance and gain exposure to paid creative testing, campaign operations, and performance analysis.

Benefits

  • Hourly rate of $24–$27 based on academic standing, coursework, prior experience, and demonstrated skills.
  • Exposure to paid creative testing, campaign operations, and performance analysis.
