About The Position

The Mount Washington Valley Career & Technical Center seeks a teacher for our Marketing Program. The successful candidate will provide opportunities for students interested in careers in marketing through a combination of classroom and work-based learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • New Hampshire Teacher certification in Marketing (3300-1403) or Statement of Eligibility required.
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing industry.
  • Demonstrated experience working with high school age students.
  • Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches skills and knowledge in the area of Marketing, utilizing NH DOE CTE competencies for Marketing and locally developed curriculum and other appropriate learning activities.
  • Develops lesson plans and organizes class time so that preparation, instruction, activity and clean-up can be accomplished within the allotted time.
  • Guides students at appropriate work-based learning opportunities.
  • Guides pupils in selection of appropriate elective projects.
  • Maintains a record of student attendance which can be audited and makes daily reports of students absent each period.
  • Design and use assessment data to monitor progress of all students towards established standards, maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property.
  • Create an environment of respect and rapport that establishes a culture of learning
  • Manage classroom procedures and student behavior
  • Communicate with students and their families
  • Collaborate with other educators within the school and across the District
  • Implement 504 and IEP accommodations and modifications
  • Actively participate within the professional community, growing professionally, reflecting on teaching and demonstrating professionalism
  • Recruits opportunities for extended learning opportunities for students, advises and assesses the outcomes of the opportunities.
  • Advises the Marketing Career and Technical Student Organizations.
  • Maintains an active advisory committee consisting of industry representatives, prior and current students.
  • Keeps informed of the industry’s job entry requirements and instructs pupils in the rudiments of getting and retaining these jobs.
  • Follow District policies and procedures
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the director.
