About The Position

OpenArt is seeking a Marketing Data Scientist to be the first dedicated marketing data scientist on the team. This role will partner with the Head of Data to build measurement, experimentation, and insights for OpenArt's marketing organization, covering performance marketing, influencer/UGC, and lifecycle/email. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamentals in SQL, Python, experimentation, and at least one measurement specialty. They should possess strong product and business intuition and be eager to grow their expertise with guidance from the Head of Data. The role involves inheriting and extending existing work, including a multi-model attribution build, marketing attribution alignment, and incrementality tests. A key priority will be to lead the development of real-time influencer/UGC measurement.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in data science, analytics, or marketing science.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, with the ability to work with data end-to-end independently.
  • Meaningful experience supporting a marketing, growth, or lifecycle team, with an understanding of marketer needs and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in at least one measurement specialty: experimentation/incrementality, attribution, MMM, marketing analytics, or growth analytics.
  • Strong product/business intuition.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of telling clear data stories to various stakeholders (marketers, PMs, CFOs).
  • High ownership and comfort working in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience measuring influencer/creator/UGC marketing.
  • Experience as an early or first data hire supporting a marketing organization.
  • Familiarity with the following stack: BigQuery, Amplitude, Metabase, Stripe, Google/Meta/TikTok/Bing/Reddit Ads, GTM, Impact, Tolt.
  • Experience in consumer product, marketplaces, creator platforms, or e-commerce.
  • Exposure to AI/ML products or generative AI.
  • Familiarity with privacy-era measurement (Consent Mode, SKAN/ATT, Privacy Sandbox).

  • Full-stack marketing attribution architecture (taxonomy, windows, multi-model, priority logic).
  • MMM (build, buy, or vendor-partner).
  • Instrumentation and UTM/tracking design at the platform level.
  • Cross-channel spend strategy and marketing direction.

Responsibilities

  • Own the weekly review with the influencer marketing team, providing data, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain real-time dashboards for influencer/UGC traffic, CAC/ROAS/payback across channels, and campaign performance.
  • Debug attribution gaps across ad platforms, data warehouse, and CRM.
  • Design and execute incrementality tests, holdout tests, and A/B tests for marketing programs.
  • Partner on survey design and analysis to correct platform-reported CAC.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to inform spend decisions, including creative reads, cohort/LTV analysis, channel efficiency, and campaign post-mortems.
  • Contribute to the marketing attribution build, including channel/subchannel/partner taxonomy, attribution windows, priority chain, promo code handling, and multi-model attribution.
  • Contribute to per-creator influencer attribution instrumentation (unique codes/UTMs/landing pages).
  • Translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations for marketing leaders.
  • Set the standard for experimentation rigor and marketing measurement quality.
