Marketing Copywriter

About The Position

Words matter here. As Marketing Copywriter, you’ll be responsible for shaping how guests discover, experience, and remember Mainsail Lodging & Development’s portfolio of distinctive hotel, restaurant, and lifestyle brands. From social captions that stop the scroll to newsletters people actually open (and read), your writing will bring personality, warmth, and clarity to every touchpoint. You’ll collaborate closely with corporate marketing and social teams to ensure each brand sounds like itself—never generic, never forced, and always on purpose. If you love storytelling, understand tone instinctively, and know the difference between “clever” and “trying too hard,” you’ll feel right at home. Please note: This position is based out of Mainsail’s corporate headquarters in Tampa, not Epicurean Hotel. Mainsail Lodging & Development, based in Tampa, Florida, is an award-winning hospitality company specializing in hotel, resort, and short-term furnished living, marketing, and sales. Our portfolio spans the southeastern U.S. and Caribbean, featuring distinct properties that include private island resorts, boutique southern hotels, urban culinary destinations, and historic landmarks. Each property showcases exceptional design, thoughtful service, and standout food and beverage experiences. We believe great brands are built through creativity, collaboration, and a healthy respect for detail—and we’re looking for people who care just as much.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional copywriting experience across digital and campaign channels
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong sense of voice and tone
  • Ability to shift seamlessly between playful, refined, conversational, and informative
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines (without panicking)
  • Collaborative, curious, and open to feedback
  • Strong instincts for what sounds right—and what doesn’t
  • Ability to work extended periods at a computer
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects without losing attention to detail
  • Occasional travel as needed for property visits or launches
  • Strong focus, creativity, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience writing for multiple brands, voices, or audiences simultaneously
  • Hospitality, lifestyle, or food & beverage experience is a plus
  • Agency or fast-paced, multi-brand experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Write Compelling, On-Brand Copy: Develop copy for social media, email newsletters, blogs, campaigns, and digital marketing that captures each brand’s voice while supporting business goals.
  • Be a Voice Guardian: Ensure consistency in tone, messaging, and storytelling across a variety of hospitality brands—knowing when to follow the rules and when to bend them (tastefully).
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Marketing Manager, Social Media Manager, and Creative Manager to bring campaigns and ideas to life through words that feel intentional and human.
  • Support Social Storytelling: Partner with the social and eCommerce teams on captions, campaign messaging, and branding concepts that are platform-appropriate and audience-aware.
  • Edit, Refine, Repeat: Proofread and polish copy for clarity, accuracy, and flow—because details matter, and typos are not our friend.
  • Stay Curious: Keep up with cultural, travel, food, and lifestyle trends to ensure content feels current, relevant, and inspired.
