Woodcraft Rangers, established in 1922 in Los Angeles, is a progressive organization dedicated to guiding young people through expanded learning opportunities. It is notably inclusive, youth-led, and rooted in the Woodcraft Way, which focuses on developing body, mind, spirit, and service. The organization provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment, and summer learning. Recently, Woodcraft Rangers has broadened its services to include early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and inclusion services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, it offers the LifeCraft program for college and career advancement to support its approximately 2,250 staff members. Currently, Woodcraft Rangers serves over 30,000 youth annually across more than 150 Title I schools in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about seeing projects through from conception to delivery, adept at building timelines, managing vendors, synchronizing stakeholders, and ensuring timely, on-brand outcomes. This is primarily a logistics-focused position, requiring comfort in creative environments and direct collaboration with designers, videographers, and photographers. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of brand voice to review and quality-check content across various channels, ensuring creators have the necessary resources for successful delivery. A natural collaborator, the ideal candidate communicates clearly at all levels, quickly grasps context, and demonstrates reliable follow-through, understanding that operational consistency is crucial for mission-driven creative work. The Marketing & Communications Project Manager (PM) is a pivotal role, combining strong project management skills with effective communication. This individual is responsible for driving creative projects from initial brief to final delivery, while simultaneously keeping the broader organization informed, aligned, and progressing. The PM oversees end-to-end production management for all MarComms projects, including print and digital collateral, campaign deliverables, and video shoots. This role also functions as the department's primary intake point and cross-functional liaison, receiving, evaluating, and prioritizing incoming requests from other departments. The PM translates these requests into actionable project plans, ensuring appropriate resources, timelines, and stakeholders are in place. Key responsibilities include building and managing project plans, leading productions, managing vendor relationships, tracking budgets, supporting brand-aligned copywriting, and facilitating stakeholder communication and meeting structures to keep organization-wide initiatives on track. The PM will be a consistent presence in cross-departmental meetings, representing MarComms, capturing needs, setting expectations, and ensuring that every incoming request is intentionally scoped, scheduled, and delivered. This position requires comfort in diverse settings, from production calls with video crews to leadership-level meetings with directors across the organization.
