About The Position

The Marketing Assistant will develop and communicate messaging (digital and print) to support event programming, execution and additional needs to drive base business growth in the Collegiate Hospitality account. They will drive social media, marketing and communication strategies, by becoming a presence on the campus, developing dining program awareness and loyalty through multiple mediums and student engagement. The successful candidate will be an extremely talented, passionate, and detailed Marketer who will aid in the planning, development, generation, and implementation of print and digital copy. Critical to the role is the ability to dive into details in order to transform industry subject matter into relevant messages that resonate with, engage, and educate a variety of audiences. This role reports to the Marketing Manager to support driving voluntary meal plan sales and base business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, advertising, communications or marketing
  • Public relations, Marketing, Sales, Community Management experience, a plus
  • Exceptional knowledge and skills of all social media
  • Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other departments when necessary
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and understand
  • Strong organizational and collaborative skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting demanding deadlines, producing high quality work and projecting a professional image.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Community Manager to develop and implement the social media content for all locations, health and wellness and sustainability.
  • Coordinate with the campus marketing team to effectiveness by encouraging adoption of relevant social media and PR techniques. Target audiences include students, faculty, staff and the local community. Focus on increasing followers and driving engagement.
  • Manage social media and public relations campaigns and day-to-day activities. Duties include online advocacy and promotion, writing editorial content for various communication platforms, community outreach efforts, promotions, building local publication relationships, etc. Be an advocate for the campus dining program.
  • Work with Marketing Manager to update the dining website including menu correctness, video and written content. Ensure everything is accurate and on point with our program through regular audits.
  • Work with subject matter experts on a variety of topics and translate that information into captivating and concrete storytelling, enhancing brand awareness and engagement.
  • Assist managers with the planning of special events. Responsible for set up and break down. Ensure marketing collateral is posted with ample time prior to event start.
  • Responsible for the complete creation, accuracy and delivery of print and digital collateral. This includes, but is not limited to: meal plan brochures, orientation collateral, meal plan 101 documents, cashier event signage, retail promotions, meal plan promotions, hours of operation needs, health and sustainability information, monthly event calendars, location and concession signage, emergency and client facing communication pieces.
  • This position may manage peer-to-peer or student interns. If applicable it will manage team members, complete training of new and returning team members, lead daily execution of tabling events and additional opportunities for students to assist with.
  • Ensure implementation and accuracy of suggested marketing collateral.
