About The Position

We are seeking a creative, motivated, and detail‑oriented Marketing and Communications Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers hands‑on experience in employee engagement, content creation, social media strategy, event coordination, and community engagement efforts. You’ll collaborate with team members across the organization, contribute to real-world projects, and gain valuable exposure to corporate communications and brand engagement.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, or similar).
  • Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive, collaborative mindset.
  • Interest in corporate communications, brand engagement, and community impact.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Engagement Communications Draft internal communications such as intranet posts and employee announcements.
  • Support development of storytelling content that highlights team achievements, culture initiatives, and organizational priorities.
  • Assist in maintaining internal communication channels and calendars.
  • Social Media Planning and Content Creation Support the development of social media content for corporate channels, including drafting posts, designing visual assets, and sourcing multimedia.
  • Assist in social editorial calendar planning and campaign brainstorming.
  • Monitor social trends and compile insights to inform content strategies.
  • Event Management Support Assist with planning, logistics, and execution for internal and external events.
  • Help coordinate event communications, materials, and on‑site support.
  • Capture event photos and content for post‑event recaps and digital channels.
  • Community Engagement Initiatives Support outreach and communication efforts for community partnerships and volunteer programs.
  • Assist in reporting, storytelling, and documenting the impact of community initiatives.
  • Help develop content that amplifies The Mutual Group’s commitment to community involvement.
