Position: Marketing & Communications Coordinator Job Type: Part-time or full-time Schedule: Monday through Friday; Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required. Location: On-site in Sequim, WA with occasional travel to Port Angeles and Jefferson County locations. Working Conditions: Busy, fast-paced environment, indoors, with occasional outdoor responsibilities. General Function: Provides materials and support services to all Y programs, activities, special events, and philanthropy. Assists in webmaster and electronic communications duties as well as trains staff in the use of marketing and communication tools and strategies. This position also reviews, proof-reads and edits promotional materials for the association.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in website content management.
  • Experience managing social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Strong knowledge of technology, social media, marketing, and communications.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Canva Pro, email, and internet.
  • Ability to assist in creating a comprehensive marketing plan for multiple locations with a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, proof-reading and editing skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple complex projects at one time, with strong follow-up skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively connect and build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • CPR and First-Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
  • Pass a comprehensive background check.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with Y USA on all national initiatives.
  • Supports and encourages application of Y USA Best Practices
  • Serves as YMCA Brand Advocate and assures Membership Standards are Maintained.
  • Coordinates marketing campaigns for key initiatives including but not limited to print and digital materials, press releases, flyers, newsletters, social media content, advertisements, brochures, signage, etc.
  • ln collaboration with branch and association staff, reviews and approves high-quality marketing and communications materials and templates to support Y's programs and services including proofreading and approving communications for grammar, content, branding compliance, and consistent messaging.
  • Assists in website maintenance and updating.
  • Maintains positive vendor relationships while being responsible for placing orders for a variety of items, including branded articles, business cards, signage, and awards etc.
  • Assist in planning and implementing an annual strategic and tactical marketing integrated communications plan, consistent with Y's brand and voice, to build and inform target audiences, as well as to promote local and national campaigns and events.
  • Assist in planning and implementing special events, vendor events, etc.
  • Create, cultivate and schedule content for social media, internal/external communications and other digital marketing needs.
  • Upholds established safety protocols and YMCA policies.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, supervision, and risk management procedures.
  • Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations in accordance with mandated reporting requirements.
  • Ensures equipment and operations meet health and safety standards.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace.
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as required and complete all online training which includes child abuse prevention training within 7 days of hire.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping tasks to ensure the workspace is always clean.
  • Submits hours worked accurately on the electronic timecard, within timelines for the supervisor’s approval.
  • Wear appropriate attire as per the dress code policy.
  • Flexible schedule as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.
