About The Position

The Marketing Activations Producer will lead the creation, development, and execution of a new series of marketing activations, including those developed internally by the New Museum as well as those developed in collaboration with brands and other external partners. They will lead the cultivation of marketing partnerships with brand-aligned companies and organizations, resulting in events, activations, and products that increase attendance and audience participation, multiply communication and PR opportunities, and create value for the New Museum through earned revenue and in-kind support. As part of this work, the Marketing Activations Producer will work with Department of External Affairs (DEA) colleagues to translate internally generated marketing activations and brand partnerships, when appropriate, into digital content for New Museum social media channels. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role will work cross-functionally across the New Museum with colleagues in Special Events, Curatorial, Development, Visitor Experience, New Museum Store, NEW INC, and Oberon. Please note that this is a six-month, full-time contract position.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in creative production with arts and cultural organizations.
  • Experience forging relationships and securing partnerships that create brand value.
  • Tapped into trends in culture, but more importantly, able to identify and execute on opportunities to engage with these trends.
  • Capable of managing production timelines and resources to ensure that events and content are delivered on-time and on-budget.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead complex teams of internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Produce audience-building marketing events from conceptualization to execution.
  • Create partnerships with New Museum-aligned companies and organizations to expand both the Museum’s audiences and, in turn, its revenue.
  • Secure and organize brand-aligned pop-ups in the New Museum Store, Sky Rooms, Lobby, and other interstitial spaces, in collaboration with different New Museum departments (including Visitor Experience, Curatorial, Development, etc.).
  • In collaboration with the Digital Content Producer, assist with the development of the New Museum’s longform video strategy and YouTube monetization, including the creation of production plans and budgets.
  • For existing partnerships and relationships with brands held by the New Museum’s Development team, act as DEA liaison and offer strategies for partner visibility on the Museum’s channels.
  • Cultivate opportunities for the New Museum to expand its presence and revenue streams beyond its walls.
