About The Position

The primary purpose of your job position is to develop, coordinate, direct, and administer our facility’s marketing and public relations programs and services. This role involves maintaining and increasing census by developing and implementing public relations and marketing programs, ensuring accurate public information, and fostering positive internal and external communication. The position also requires managing customer satisfaction surveys, interpreting facility policies, and maintaining liaison with families, residents, and community leaders. Additionally, the Marketer will prepare departmental budgets, serve on committees, and maintain resident care information confidentiality. The role requires supervisory responsibilities and adherence to safety and privacy regulations.

Requirements

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years experience in marketing/public relations in a health care setting may be recognized in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, direct, and administer the facility’s marketing and public relations programs and services.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct public relations and marketing programs to maintain and increase census.
  • Develop and maintain written policies and procedures for the release of information concerning residents, employees, and the facility, in accordance with privacy regulations.
  • Assist department directors in developing and using marketing and public relations policies and procedures.
  • Establish rapport between departments to emphasize the importance of each staff member's role in marketing and public relations.
  • Review marketing and public relations policies and procedures annually and make necessary changes.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and tracking of customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Interpret facility policies and procedures regarding the release of information to employees, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies.
  • Ensure public information (policy manuals, brochures, information packets) is accurate and fully descriptive.
  • Ensure all employees follow established policies and procedures governing the release of information.
  • Organize and implement continuing internal communications through various channels (bulletin boards, newsletters, etc.).
  • Schedule and participate in departmental meetings concerning marketing and public relations programs.
  • Provide creative support for activity and social services departments in developing resident programs and publications.
  • Maintain an adequate liaison with families, residents, and community and civic leaders.
  • Participate in community service and civic groups to obtain information and seek support for charitable activities.
  • Contact the news media for new programs or promotions beneficial to the facility and community.
  • Keep the Administrator informed of relevant news media accounts.
  • Establish a public relations area during emergencies to ensure accurate information release.
  • Assist department directors in planning and conducting in-service training, on-the-job training, and orientation programs related to marketing and public relations.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment.
  • Follow established ergonomics policies and procedures.
  • Prepare a departmental operating budget for approval and allocate resources.
  • Serve on various committees of the facility as directed by the Administrator.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.
  • Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of information.
  • Interpret resident rights to residents, families, and staff as necessary.
