The Opportunity Our Short-Term Marketing team is a natural gas capacity trading team that sits at the cutting edge of North American energy markets. We are seeking a Marketer – West Desk who is ready to immediately hit the ground running by marketing and trading near-term capacity on TC Energy’s Eastern natural gas pipeline assets, directly supporting company annual EBITDA targets. The marketer will be responsible for recognizing and creating commercial opportunities, subsequently evaluating and executing transactions, and ensuring that related decisions capture maximum value and mitigate risk.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics or other technical field from a distinguished university; graduate degree and/or professional certification preferred
  • 5+ years of gas market experience, to include marketing, trading, nominations, scheduling and/or customer service; strong understanding in the physical and financial natural gas market dynamics
  • Drawn to challenge, uncertainty and a hunger for adventure
  • Strong capability of understanding complex analysis of data models and successfully deriving clear conclusions and recommendations for action
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills; comfortable articulating market fundamentals and business decisions to team members, senior leaders and customers

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team to manage overall physical and financial transport and storage positions and monitor the team's profit and loss on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Manage existing customer relationships and create new ones to enhance TC Energy’s asset portfolio opportunities
  • Analyze data, markets, and risk to support real-time commercial decisions; including evaluating pricing and pricing derivatives
  • Articulate and clearly communicate commercial strategies and results to senior leadership
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in gas market fundamentals and work with other commercial teams to shape our growth opportunities and provide strategic insights
  • Independently handle and monitor positions and exposures
  • Expected travel tempo of 20-25% to visit customers and attend industry events
