About The Position

As GFT continues to grow and expand, we are seeking a Regional Business Development Manager to support our Transportation Group in Metro Nashville, TN and throughout the Southeast. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of 3 days of onsite office attendance. GFT is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to drive business development and strategic growth for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and other transportation clients in Tennessee and the Southeast. This role with be focused primarily on traditional transportation projects in Tennessee and Georgia, as well as Alternative Project Delivery projects throughout the Southeast and Texas. The Business Development Manager consistently builds trust and delivers value at every interaction with our clients to achieve client satisfaction and fully leverage relationships to benefit the clients and the firm. Working with members of our team, your focus is to make sure GFT is the clients’ firm-of-choice. The Business Development Manager will be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with other senior leaders in Transportation and other divisions, and mentor staff to drive strategic planning, business development, opportunity identification, proposal and interview presentation creation, and relationship building.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years' progressive experience as business development leader or related experience.
  • A strong background in traditional delivery and alternative project delivery transportation projects and business development with verifiable track record of winning and executing large complex transportation projects.
  • Growth focused with ability to attract and develop talent to expand market share and meet the growing needs of our clients.
  • Self-starter with the ability to address multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to challenge, confront and lead through influence.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Strong existing relationships with TDOT and throughout the Southeast, as well as with teaming partners and contractors is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as one of the key points of contact for TDOT, meeting regularly with TDOT staff at multiple levels and across regions to gather feedback on GFT performance, resolve issues, and identify opportunities.
  • Assist Georgia technical staff in business development efforts for the Georgia Department of Transportation and other transportation clients throughout Georgia to help elevate the GFT brand and drive strategic growth.
  • Serve as a key contact for owners, partners, and stakeholders on Alternative Project Delivery (APD) projects throughout the Southeast and in Texas.
  • Assist with identification, capture planning, and pursuit of Alternative Project Delivery (APD) projects throughout the Southeast and in Texas.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential teaming partners, both consultants and contractors.
  • Develop strategies and tactical action plans to achieve business development and client relationship objectives; identify trends and opportunities for business and resource growth.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize pursuits early, and shape capture plans well ahead of procurement cycles.
  • Initiate and review proposals and sales activities, lead or support interviews and presentations.
  • Represent GFT at strategically significant conferences; maintain visibility through active participation in professional, civic, and business organizations, especially across Tennessee and Georgia and in the APD arena across the Southeast and in Texas.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of client goals, contract requirements, performance metrics, and delivery expectations across programs.
  • Partner with project and operations leaders to ensure delivery excellence, risk management, and strong financial performance.
  • Provide timely, clear communication across Area, Regional, and Business Group leadership, and key delivery teams.
